Slip, Trip and Falls

Trip and Falls

Trip and falls often occur as a result of hazardous walkway conditions like an abrupt change in surface elevation or stairways with improper tread and/or riser dimensions. FSB evaluates the presence of hazardous conditions by documenting the site and acquiring the necessary measurements to compare to applicable building code and safety standard specifications.

Slip and Falls

A slip and fall can occur when a pedestrian's traction demand exceeds the walkway's available traction. This commonly occurs due to the presence of a walkway contaminant that the individual unknowingly steps in. Obtaining walkway surface slip resistance coefficients is completed by collecting measurements with a variable incidence tribometer.
